Manchester United have £7m forgotten signing arriving next month who's been compared to Wayne Rooney
Manchester United have made an eye-catching start to the summer transfer window by securing the arrival of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Brazilian international officially joined United earlier this week and after scoring 17 goals for Wolves last season he should add some much needed firepower to the club's ranks.
Cunha will slot into one of the attacking midfield roles in Ruben Amorim's 3-4-2-1 system and United are hopeful Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo will also arrive to play alongside him.
The Cameroon international scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season and is keen on a move to United. Tottenham and Newcastle are also said to be interested with the Bees holding out for their asking price for the 25-year-old.
But it is perhaps a summer signing that was agreed back in January that could prove to be one of the biggest steals of this window.
United announced the signing of Paraguayan left-back Diego Leon for an initial £3.3million that could rise to £7million in add-ons and he will officially join the club on July 1.
In that time, the 18-year-old has continued to play regularly for Cerro Porteno in the Paraguayan top flight, picking up invaluable experience of first team football.
There is a lot of excitement about his ceiling back in his homeland and it has perhaps gone under the radar that he will eventually make the move to Old Trafford in just 16 days' time.
So much so that speaking back in January, Paraguayan football expert Ralph Hannah, co-host of the English speaking Paraguayan football podcast Guaraní Vision, told the Manchester Evening News he was reminiscent of a 'teenage Wayne Rooney'.
