Manchester United handed Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia injury boosts

Manchester United have been plagued by injury this season but Erik ten Hag is slowly getting his full squad back.

Raphael Varane came on from the bench against Sheffield United to make his first appearance back from injury while United were handed two further injury boosts ahead of a crucial Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen on Tuesday.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Lisandro Martinez are due to be long-term absentees while Tyrell Malacia has not played since last season due to needing surgery on a knee injury. However, he could be back before the new year and showed advancements towards his return this week.

Sergio Reguilon and Casemiro took part in United training ahead of Tuesday's game against F.C. Copenhagen.

Reguilon last played against Burnley on September 23 and he's been sidelined with a hamstring injury, but he resumed training last week and he's in contention to play against Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Ten Hag confirmed in his pre-match press conference that a late decision would be made on Reguilon to determine whether he would be available and the player trained with the main group on Monday afternoon.

Malacia trained individually and did some light ball work on Monday afternoon as he looks to return to fitness from a knee injury.
