Manchester United handed £12.8m transfer chance to sign dream Rasmus Hojlund partner

Manchester United may have finally been shown the perfect player they can sign to assist with the development of Rasmus Hojlund.

After joining the club from Atalanta, it emerged that United were on the hunt for an experienced striker to assist the 21-year-old's development. Hojlund's first season at Old Trafford has been mixed to say the least with a stunning purple patch of form which saw him score seven goals in six games as the bulk of his Premier League goal tally.

Minor injuries have also significantly affected Hojlund with regular short-term absences preventing him from developing any consistency. In the final weeks of the season, Erik ten Hag opted to take him out of the spotlight with Bruno Fernandes utilised in a false nine role.

From his appearances off the bench, Hojlund was able to add to his tally with late goals scored against Newcastle and Brighton. The Norway international also helped United see out the FA Cup triumph against Manchester City but he will undoubtedly be hoping he can reclaim a spot in the starting XI next season.

United went somewhat against recent striker signings with the addition of Hojlund, however they have been given a chance to revert back to their previous stance. In recent seasons United have signed numerous experienced strikers with Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani both finding success at Old Trafford.
