Manchester United great Edwin van der Sar's condition 'stable but still concerning' after brain haemorrhage

Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar remains in intensive care following a bleed on the brain where his condition is described as 'stable but still concerning'.

The former United goalkeeper was admitted to hospital on Friday after he suffered a cerebral haemorrhage while on holiday in Croatia. He has since been transferred to the coastal city of Split.

Van der Sar's former clubs, including United, Ajax and Fulham among others, have all sent messages of support for the former Netherlands international. United's message read: "Sending all our love and strength to you, Edwin."
