Manchester United given key double injury boost for Nottingham Forest

Casemiro and Victor Lindelof are both fit for Manchester United's FA Cup fifth round tie away to Nottingham Forest.

Lindelof hobbled off just before full-time in the 2-1 defeat to Fulham on Saturday while Casemiro was forced off in the 52nd minute with a head injury. United manager Erik ten Hag clarified Casemiro was not concussed.

"It was a bleeding, so he had to come off," he said. "It was definitely not in our advantage that he couldn't continue the game but he is available for tomorrow."

Ten Hag suggested there had been an overreaction to United's first defeat of the calendar year. A draw with a depleted Tottenham was sandwiched between FA Cup wins over League One Wigan Athletic and League Two Newport County in January before United won their first four Premier League games in February.

United head to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup fifth round on Wednesday night in what remains their only chance of silverware this season.

"When you are unbeaten for January and February and you lose one game - we know our aim is to win every game, that's United," Ten Hag added. "Obviously, it was a poor performance for a defeat, we are aware of this.

"We want to stay in every competition so yeah, we have to win tomorrow. It doesn't change our approach because that is for every game."

Ten Hag was reluctant to dwell on his future at United now Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his Ineos team is overseeing football operations at the club. There is uncertainty over Ten Hag's future as United are sixth in the Premier League table and eight points adrift of the fourth Champions League qualifying place.
