Manchester United give Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana injury updates vs Everton

Andre Onana is fit for Manchester United's Premier League fixture at Everton on Sunday but Rasmus Hojlund is a doubt.

Onana sustained an injury in Cameroon's 3-0 win over Mauritius last week but he trained on Friday. Hojlund, who came off with a hamstring problem in the 1-0 defeat of Luton Town a fortnight ago, has started training but will be assessed on Saturday.

Jonny Evans (thigh), Lisandro Martinez (foot), Tyrell Malacia (knee), Christian Eriksen (knee) and Casemiro (hamstring) are all still sidelined but Luke Shaw will return to the United squad for the first time in three months, having recovered from a hamstring tear.

"Andre is okay," United manager Erik ten Hag said. "He stepped in training today, he's good. Rasmus: still is a close finish. He's training, he finished outside, making very good steps and we have to wait until tomorrow and we will make a final decision.

"Luke Shaw will be available for Sunday, he will be in the squad. To Jonny: he's on the way back, he's not ready for Everton, he will not take long."

Ten Hag is banned from the touchline at Goodison Park after receiving three yellow cards in league games this season and he will watch the match from the directors' box.

Goodison is bound to produce a febrile atmosphere after the Premier League docked the club 10 points last week for breaching the profitability and sustainability rules. Everton fans are planning protests before and during the game.
