Manchester United 'frontrunners’ for three players this summer amid Moises Caicedo transfer hurdle

Manchester United are being touted as frontrunners for three players this summer, including Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount.

Erik ten Hag is after a new striker as well as a fresh midfielder and goalkeeper with a budget of between £100 and £120m to be supplemented by exits. United have been linked with a number of players in those positions with reports suggesting approaches have been made to some.

We take a closer look at the three players that United are said to be leading the transfer race for.

United have already seen three bids rejected for Mount, although are still in talks with Chelsea for the midfielder. Their latest offer of £55m remains on the table.

If discussions don't progress, United are prepared to walk away from the deal in the pursuit of other targets. Personal terms have already been agreed with the player himself keen on a move to Old Trafford.

With Tottenham remaining stubborn on Harry Kane, United have been seeking out a number of fall-back options. Video calls have been held with Atalanta forward Hojlund, who would likely come in as a secondary striker.
