Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford needs just one thing to return to his best

Most Manchester United fans will never turn on their own but supporters are becoming increasingly frustrated with Marcus Rashford.

Rashford's poor decision-making has provoked audible groans from the crowd this season and the recent chants of 'Viva Garnacho' in the second half against both Burnley and Crystal Palace appeared to be suggestions to substitute him.

Alejandro Garnacho was bright from the bench in the weekend's defeat by Palace and the gap between the youngster and Rashford has been reduced as a consequence of the latter's difficult start to the campaign.

Rashford has contributed one goal and two assists and his lack of end product has brought intense scrutiny on other areas of his game, invariably creating a conversation that was unthinkable last season.

The forward enjoyed the best year of his career last term and he was genuinely undroppable. He finished the season with 30 goals and 11 assists and he practically single-handedly shouldered the burden of scoring the team's goals.

That's why Rashford misfiring this time around is such a problem. United were over-reliant on him and fortunately, he didn't stop scoring last term and he was only unavailable for a handful of matches due to injury.

Most supporters feared how the team would perform without Rashford's goals and they've now found out. United have lost five of their nine matches and that includes back-to-back league defeats at Old Trafford.
