Manchester United fans send message on Ralf Rangnick's future role at club

Although Ralf Rangnick is the current interim manager of Manchester United, there is the expectation that he will move into a consultancy role higher up in the chain in the summer. The club will then appoint a permanent manager into the dugout, with the Manchester Evening News understanding that Erik ten Hag has been interviewed for the position.

Rangnick's time as interim manager has not been what United fans would have hoped, with the club expected to miss out on a top-four finish and they have also crashed out of every major competition. However, the German's most important work will begin once he has stepped aside in the summer.

Famed for his work in Germany and more globally with the Red Bull project, Rangnick has earned a reputation as a project builder; working most effectively on the larger scale rather than on the small. Under his leadership, clubs like RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg became hubs for the world's top talent, with their scouting and ability to acquire the best young players being unmatched.

And despite the season potentially coming to a disappointing end, Rangnick has not wasted his time as interim. He has compiled a list of the four major things he feels that United need to do to turn their fortunes around, potentially under Ten Hag. This will hopefully give the fans a taste of what's to come when he is acting as a consultant.
