Manchester United fans respond to reports Casemiro and Raphael Varane are up for sale

A number of Manchester United fans are questioning the long-term impact of Casemiro and Raphael Varane amid their dips in form this season.

Both were key players in United’s success last term but have struggled to get going this time around, with Varane finding it hard to get back into the starting XI and Casemiro off-colour before his potentially year-ending hamstring injury.

A report in the Daily Mail claims both ageing players could be chopped by the incoming Sir Jim Ratcliffe as the soon-to-be minority investor looks to change tack when it comes to transfer targets when he assumes sporting control of the club.

United fans are appreciative of their efforts since arriving, with the duo being big pluses in Erik ten Hag’s rebuild. However, some are questioning whether United’s transfer strategy has worked in the long-term.

A handful aired their views on social media forum Reddit. Several gave their thoughts on both transfer calls, including whether they should be sold in the coming windows or not.
