Manchester United fans loved what Jadon Sancho did at full-time against Everton

Jadon Sancho earned plaudits from Manchester United fans following the full-time whistle at Everton on Saturday.

United slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park in the early kick-off as they suffered yet another blow to their chances of making the Champions League next season. Ralf Rangnick's men started brightly with Marcus Rashford twice being denied by Jordan Pickford.

However, things turned sour in the 27th minute when a deflected Anthony Gordon strike evaded David de Gea and gave the Toffees the lead. Rangnick's team failed to create many opportunities after the goal as they slipped to defeat on Merseyside.

Everton's victory meant United stayed seventh in the table but victory for Tottenham Hotspur later in the day meant United are now six points off the Champions League places. Supporters were keen to make their feelings known to the players at full-time as they vented their anger.

While most of Rangnick's side trudged down the tunnel, seemingly ignoring the fans, Sancho turned and applauded the supporters before appearing to hold his hands up apologetically for the team's display. One United fan commented on Twitter: "Not one, barring Sancho, applauding the away fans, disgrace after that performance."
