Manchester United fans left stunned as eight-year-old Kobbie Mainoo tweet goes viral

Man Utd fans have been blown away by a tweet about an 11-year-old Kobbie Mainoo after it came back into the spotlight this week.

Mainoo is already being talked about as a special young player after impressively breaking into the United first team this season - and someone spotted his talent very early on.

A tweet from a fan who saw Mainoo play at just 11 has re-emerged after the young star got his first call-up to play for England. The 18-year-old has had an amazing season, prompting Gareth Southgate to name him in his England squad for the first time.

Mainoo could make his debut against Belgium or Brazil at Wembley Stadium. He was first chosen for England's Under-21 team, but after impressing in United's exciting 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup, he got moved up to the senior squad.

Some supporters were upset that Mainoo wasn't picked sooner, especially when older player Jordan Henderson was chosen instead.

And a viral tweet has confirmed that one fan in particular has been impressed by Mainoo for some time - even though, incredibly, the midfielder was only 11 when the tweet was sent.

It was posted as a Manchester United youth side were in action during a game in Krakow, Poland, for the Murapol Cup in the summer of 2016. One tweet said: "No10 for United looks quite skilful. Any idea who he is?" with a fan replying "Kobbie Mainoo, very good player."
