Manchester United fans fume at 'bizarre' England decision on Jadon Sancho
Gareth Southgate has announced his England squad for the team's upcoming international friendlies against the Ivory Coast and Switzerland. It seems like the manager has reverted to his 'old reliables' for many positions, which was expected — but one omission has Manchester United fans angry.
Jadon Sancho was omitted from the England squad in November after poor form under Ole Gunnar Solsjaer, which most United fans conceded was fair. But now after being revitalised by Ralf Rangnick, his absence seems less reasonable.
Raheem Sterling, Phil Foden, Buyako Saka, Jack Grealish and Emile Smith Rowe have all been chosen over the United winge. And questions have been raised especially over Sancho's omission, given his form compared with some of the aforementioned players like Grealish and Smith Rowe, who have both been on their clubs' benches of late.

Sancho under Rangnick has been one of the league's most creative players and after a slow start has finally added goals and assists to his games. He has been a shining light in what has been a poor season for United and the reaction from fans to his omission on social media shows their frustration at Southgate's decision:
There is a long way to go till the World Cup and Southgate's squad final squad selection for the competition, but United fans will be worried that, even when Sancho is in good form, he is far from the manager's thoughts. This combined with Marcus Rashford's omission leaves only Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw as the club's only players in the squad.
