Manchester United fans fume about 'liability' ahead of Leicester City clash
Manchester United will be without striker Edinson Cavani for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Leicester City.
The experienced forward limped off during the first half of Uruguay’s 2-0 win over Chile this week with a calf problem. Interim manager Ralf Rangnick has confirmed the former PSG man will miss the evening kick-off at Old Trafford. Cavani has been blighted by injury this season, making just one Premier League appearance since February 8.
In his pre-match press conference, Rangnick said Cavani would be out of action for a "couple of weeks". Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to lead the line against the Foxes, fresh from helping Portugal book their place at the Qatar World Cup later this year.
The news of Cavani's latest injury has not gone down well with Man United fans, with many taking to social media to air frustration about the 35-year-old's availability rate. One tweeted: "This is ridiculous. He comes to United after international breaks, collects his wages and gets rehab and ready just in time for international duty. Then goes, plays there, gets injured. Repeat."
Another added: "This Cavani guy has actually been more of a liability than an asset." A third posted: "I’m not even surprised anymore."
