Manchester United face problem two key Premier League rivals don't have

Manchester United as a club will be thankful to not only be back in Europe next week but also among the continent's elite in the Champions League. The exposure and money which is generated from playing in UEFA's showpiece club competition is unmatched. However, Erik ten Hag may wish it would begin a couple of weeks later.

Currently, United are in the midst of a difficult injury crisis which sees several key players on the sidelines. While there is hope some will return in time for the clash with Bayern Munich, there are still plenty who will remain out of action.

Therefore, the fewer games United are competing in at the moment the better but this luxury will not be afforded to them like it is for a couple of their Premier League rivals. Most notably, Tottenham Hotspur are set to benefit from a reduced schedule over the next few weeks.

Having already been knocked out of the Carabao Cup and missing out on European qualification last term, Spurs' fixture list looks blank in comparison to what the Reds are dealing with. Chelsea have a similar story too albeit they remain in the League Cup.

To put the difference in schedules into perspective, United's sixth match to come will take place on October 3 when they welcome Galatasaray to Old Trafford in the Champions League. For Spurs, theirs takes place on October 27 after the international break.
