Manchester United 'face competition for RB Leipzig's Nordi Mukiele' and other transfer rumours

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Nordi Mukiele. However, they face competition for his signature from French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

According to Foot Mercato, United are one of a number of clubs monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation with the Leipzig star’s contract at the Red Bull Arena set to expire next summer. Mukiele is predominantly a right-back but can also operate as a central defender in a back three.

The France international joined Leipzig in the summer of 2018 and has since established himself as an integral part of a side that has consistently challenged in the upper echelons of the Bundesliga. United are rumoured to be targeting a new right-back amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot.

Mukiele is expected to cost somewhere in the region of £19million, Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have also been linked with a move for the Frenchman as a potential replacement for Kieran Trippier who joined Newcastle in January.

Elsewhere, Bournemouth have been linked with a move for United goalkeeper Dean Henderson. The Cherries will be back in the Premier League next season after gaining promotion from the Championship and will seek to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.

According to the Sun Scott Parker’s side and fellow promoted side Fulham are eager to sign the United stopper who has had limited opportunities this season. David de Gea’s imperious form this term has seen the 25-year-old make just three first team appearances.
