Rashford and Fernandez to start — Manchester United fans name ideal XI vs Crystal Palace

Manchester United fans want to see Alvaro Fernandez start in the final game of the season.

United's terrible season will come to a merciful end on Sunday when they travel to Crystal Palace for their last match. Though United aren't competing for the title as was the aim at the start of the campaign, there is still something on the line for them today (Sunday).

Ralf Rangnick's side can secure qualification for the Europa League with all three points at Selhurst Park. However, should they slip up and West Ham defeat Brighton in their own last game then they will slip into seventh place and suffer the ignominy of the UEFA Conference League instead.

Despite the stakes being fairly substantial, United fans still want to see youngster Fernandez handed his debut from the start. The exciting left-back has enjoyed a great season in the Under-23s and has seen his efforts rewarded with a promotion to the senior side.

The 19-year-old has been named on the bench for the last three league games but is yet to get onto the pitch. That's despite Luke Shaw being sidelined after an operation and the continued poor form of stand-in Alex Telles.

Fernandez is the only academy prospect to be named in the fans XI, with Alejandro Garnacho missing out on the match after suffering from illness this past week. Hannibal Mejbri could also be involved, though, while Charlie Savage and Shola Shoretire have been named in the squad too.

United supporters want to recall Harry Maguire into the heart of the defence following his time out injured, replacing Victor Lindelof, to partner Raphael Varane. Diogo Dalot would continue at right-back.
