Manchester United Eye Short Term Alternative Manager On Sir Alex Ferguson's Advice

Manchester United could look for a short term appointment as manager, and legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson has suggested someone to do the job.

United are still in transition after the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, following a 4-1 loss to Watford in his final game in charge.

Whilst Mauricio Pochettino and Erik ten Hag have both been touted as potential saviours of the team that can barely go a week without another disaster, they are far from guaranteed to arrive this summer.

Appointing another short term boss, after the last few hires have ended up being that due to their own failures, and the failures of the club, is hardly the ideal situation.

However, it could end up becoming their best option if the managers on their current shortlist aren't available in the summer, for whatever reason.

Ten Hag is reticent on the job, and has questions over the structure at United, partially due to Ajax's structure being so good and also because he's seen what's been going on at Old Trafford for the past nine years!

Luis Enrique is another potential signing for the Red Devils but the Spain boss would likely want to stay on till after the World Cup in Qatar, again bringing Ancelotti to the fore.

Of course if that were the case, the club could just give the job to Rangnick for a bit longer, after a three goal swing against Watford in just a few months, think what he could do with another six...
