Manchester United could have five game-changers to use vs Man City

Who's the third forward?

The biggest debate in the Manchester United XI is the third forward. Rasmus Hojlund would be in most predicted or preferred XIs while Alejandro Garnacho is a given.

Amad has started the last three games but Josko Gvardiol, the centre back-cum-left back-cum-winger would be an imposing alternative to Brighton's buccaneering left back Valentin Barco.

Marcus Rashford has not started since the FA Cup semi-final on April 21 and is without a goal since March 17. Yet he has a fine big-game record and has scored in six Manchester derbies.

Where will Fernandes play?

There is a danger Erik ten Hag could overthink in his decision-making process for the third forward and Fernandes's position is bound to have a big bearing. Fernandes has started on the right three times and as the false nine in four of United's five derbies under Ten Hag.

The last dance for those on their last legs?

Casemiro's final appearance for Real Madrid was a vintage midfield masterclass against Liverpool in their Champions League final triumph in 2022. He has looked like he is on his last legs this season and today needs to be his last dance in a United shirt.

Sofyan Amrabat's error-strewn performance at Brighton makes Casemiro's return to midfield today inevitable.
