Manchester United could be about to get the transfer clarity Erik ten Hag craves
Since November, Manchester United Football Club has been stuck in limbo.
The Glazers announced last year their intention to find new investment for the club with all options being on the table, including selling entirely. However, as the months have dragged by, it's not any clearer which direction the club is heading in.
What we do know is Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Sir Jim Ratcliffe are the two leading candidates. While the former is looking for a full takeover thanks to a bid of £5bn, plus £1bn of promised investment, the latter is aiming to purchase 60 per cent of the Reds with his offer also thought to be in the region of £5bn.
As the ownership continues to stew over the offers on the table, they seem to forget who is being truly hindered by the lack of progress - Erik ten Hag. As we head into the summer transfer window, the United boss is still none the wiser about his budget for the new season given the takeover is up in the air.

Obviously the Reds are in need of investment in the summer. A centre-forward, midfielder and goalkeeper are among the necessities before looking at gaps which may need filling should players depart. While Ten Hag does have a list of players who he wishes to target, including the likes of Harry Kane, Rasmus Hojlund and Mason Mount, the Dutchman cannot be confident about how many of these stars he will be able to attract. Ten Hag has even shared his confusion regarding the summer budget last month.
