Manchester United confirm Jadon Sancho decision after Erik ten Hag meeting

Jadon Sancho has returned to Manchester United pre-season training after resolving his rift with Erik ten Hag following his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho had been banished from first-team training since last September due to his fall-out with the manager, which had prompted his subsequent January loan to Dortmund, with whom he reached the Champions League final in May.

The Manchester Evening News understands that Ten Hag and Sancho held a positive meeting this week and agreed to put their disagreement behind them and move on. The 24-year-old has resumed full training as a result.

However, MEN Sport understands he will not take part in United's opening pre-season friendly with Rosenberg in Norway on Monday due to his delayed Wednesday return, with others checking back into Carrington at the beginning of the week.

Sancho - who last played for United on August 26 - will be available for selection for subsequent pre-season friendlies.

The winger has been seen undergoing drills under new assistant coaches Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Jonny Evans - who has signed a one-year renewal - was also spotted at Carrington on Wednesday.

A statement from Manchester United said: "Jadon Sancho returned for testing on Wednesday following his loan spell at Borussia Dortmund during the second half of last season. The 24-year-old forward then trained with the group on Thursday."

Sancho - who had registered three goals and three assists in 21 matches during his Dortmund loan - has two years left on his United deal.
