Manchester United and Man City team news and injury latest ahead of Premier League derby

Manchester United fans will filter into the Etihad Stadium on Sunday brimmed with trepidation given the club’s last two displays and Manchester City’s healthy form.

United did book their place in the quarter-final of the FA Cup with a win over Nottingham Forest in midweek prior to their loss to Fulham, but that late 1-0 win will not have quelled the nerves ahead of this weekend's clash. They have a number of players out too, including some key personnel.

City, on the other hand, almost have an entirely fit squad although they will be without one winger. Few are expecting United to claim a result and some may even be happy with a low scoreline loss.

Jack Grealish will play no part in the derby after going off with a recurrence of his groin problem in the first half of the midweek FA Cup win over Luton. He might not be back until the end of the month.

Pep Guardiola otherwise has a fully fit squad to choose from. Kevin De Bruyne linked up with Erling Haaland for four of his five goals against Luton with the pair now fully on-song after their respective long injury absences.

Bruno Fernandes was seen limping out of the City Ground on Wednesday having played the full 90 minutes while carrying a knock sustained against Fulham. However, he is expected to be ready to start against City, as is Raphael Varane.

Harry Maguire remains a doubt having missed the clash with Forest while top scorer Rasmus Hojlund will sit out the derby after picking up a muscle problem last month. He will be sidelined for a number of weeks with the issue.
