Manchester United agree Sofyan Amrabat deal as Sergio Reguilon joins on loan

Here are your Manchester United evening headlines on Friday, September 1.

Manchester United have agreed a deal with Fiorentina for midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The Manchester Evening News understands United have agreed a €10million loan fee for Amrabat, with an option to buy, with the player now set for a season-long loan move to Old Trafford. United have agreed to meet the Italian club's demands on transfer deadline day with Erik ten Hag keen on bringing the Morocco international to the club.

Manchester United have signed left-back Sergio Reguilon from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan deal.

The 26-year-old trained with his new teammates for the first time on Friday morning and will be in the squad to face Arsenal at the Emirates on Sunday.

United had been scouring the market for left-backs after Luke Shaw picked up a muscle injury in training last week that will keep him sidelined for two months, with Tyrell Malacia still absent having not yet trained this summer.

Contact was made with Chelsea over a short-term deal for Marc Cucurella on Tuesday, but United turned to Reguilon after failing to agree terms with the Blues for Cucurella, who played for Chelsea in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
