Manchester’s highest restaurant is hosting an exclusive dining experience, celebrating vegetarian cooking

National Vegetarian Week kicks off next Monday and to mark the occasion, Manchester’s highest restaurant 20 Stories is hosting a one-off event dedicated to vegetarian food and drink. Taking place high above the streets of Manchester, the exclusive dinner will be held in the restaurant's private dining room on Thursday, May 19.

For the special occasion, executive chef Daniel Scott has designed a five-course tasting menu, with dishes including broccoli soup with habanero and lime to start, followed by English asparagus, peas, nettles and wild garlic. For the main course, guests can tuck into Jersey royals with leak, crème cru, baked potato with yeast jelly and onion seed crisp.

The special vegetarian tasting menu experience will be hosted in partnership with local spirit brand, Manchester Gin. All five courses will be paired with a creative cocktail made in collaboration with the drink brand, including one with gin and fresh lemon, and another with truffle and dill.

After a welcome drink and quick introduction from Manchester Gin, 20 Stories bar team will take guests on a spirit journey, guiding them on the flavour-pairing for each of the courses. So, whether it’s a herbaceous Blackberry infused gin with coriander and rosemary, or vanilla and white chocolate ganache, there'll be something to suit every taste.

Showing off the creativity of vegetarian cooking, and to finish the night off on a sweet note, a pressed pineapple dessert will be whipped up and will feature the textures of a coconut. The popular Spinningfields’ restaurant and bar also recently unveiled its new ‘spring terrace’ in its enviable outside space above Hardman Square.
