Erling Haaland deal to be confirmed 'this week' and other Man City transfer rumours

Erling Haaland's long-awaited move to Manchester City is set to be confirmed 'this week', according to recent reports.

The Borussia Dortmund star has been City's prime candidate to replace Sergio Aguero ever since a deal to sign Tottenham's Harry Kane fell through last summer - and it looks like they have finally got their man.

According to The Athletic, Haaland's £63 million move to the Etihad Stadium should be confirmed 'this week'. Dortmund are expecting a formal notification from City that they will pay the Norway international's release clause and the deal should be wrapped up.

Personal terms between City, Haaland and his representatives were reportedly agreed last month and all that's now missing is the official announcement.

Sky Sports in Germany have furthered the report by claiming City's CEO, Ferran Soriano has informed Dortmund's Hans-Joachim Watzke that they are ready to activate the player's release clause and the early announcement is to allow Haaland to say goodbye to supporters inside the Signal Iduna Park this weekend.

Elsewhere, The Telegraph says Arsenal are ready to negotiate a deal to sign Raheem Sterling if he were to become available this summer.

The England international is approaching the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and there are - so far - no signs of an extension. That leaves the door open for a summer exit - otherwise City risk losing the 27-year-old for free.

Sterling scored a brace in Sunday's 5-0 win over Newcastle and has constantly shown his quality under Guardiola's tutelage, but a lack of first-team football may tempt the winger into making the switch to North London.
