Manchester City Women get new $13.5m headquarters
DUBAI: Manchester City on Wednesday opened a new £10 million ($13.5 million) facility for its women’s team at the City Football Academy.
Spanning 17,000 sq. feet, the new space has a dressing room, gym, medical, rehab and physio spaces, as well as hydrotherapy and recovery areas.
“This new facility marks the next logical step in our long-term commitment to Manchester City Women and is an important milestone for the club as a whole,” Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said.
“We have always believed in investing to create the right environment for players and staff to develop and succeed. That approach has underpinned every aspect of our work since the professional relaunch of Manchester City Women in 2014.
“The facility therefore rightly reflects the scale of our ambition for Manchester City Women and our long-term belief in the future of the women’s game.”
Manchester City are Women’s Super League champions elect for the 2025/26 season.
Designed with input from the team and staff the new facility includes social areas with images of the players and their families, a display area for the club’s nine trophies and the names of every player who has made more than 100 appearances.
The facility is fully integrated with Manchester City’s wider football and operational environment at the City Football Academy. The site includes the 7,000-capacity Joie Stadium, the first purpose-built stadium in the Women’s Super League.
