Manchester Airport shares the 10 most popular destinations for holidaymakers last month

July was the busiest month for Manchester Airport since before the pandemic with nearly three million passengers travelling through the airport last month. It’s set to be even busier over the coming weeks with around 100,000 passengers expected to pass through the airport every day in August, with the number rising to 107,000 on Fridays as families jet off during the school holidays.

The airport welcomed 2,995,984 travellers in July, more than 200,000 more than the previous month. Mallorca was the most popular destination for holidaymakers, with nearly a quarter of a million passengers flying to Palma.

Dublin was the second most popular destination, while holiday hotspot Alicante came in third. Orlando saw the biggest percentage increase in passengers jumping from 44,000 passengers flying out to the theme park capital of the world in June compared to 53,000 in July.
