Erik ten Hag ‘produced a tactical masterclass’ as Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 on Monday night.

The Dutch manager’s reign at Old Trafford had got off to a nightmare start after defeats to Brighton and Brentford in his opening two Premier League matches.

The 4-0 loss to Brentford had many fans and pundits questioning his managerial credentials after just a few months in charge of the club.

Last weekend, United were caught out by Brentford’s high press on numerous occasions as they attempted to play the ball out from the back.

Facing one of the best pressing sides in world football next in Liverpool was far from ideal.

However, it seems that United learned their lesson and produced an incredible performance against Jurgen Klopp’s side to take all three points.

Well, a change of tactics certainly helped contribute to the transformation.

But it was the way United played that saw them beat Liverpool with performance analyst, EBL, declaring that Ten Hag ‘produced a tactical masterclass.’
