Man Utd, Tottenham to learn Christian Eriksen decision soon after ‘serious’ offer is tabled

Brentford have tabled a significant offer to Christian Eriksen, though a trusted source claimed the Man Utd and Tottenham target is considering alternative options.

Today marks one year to the day when the footballing world held its breath at Euro 2020. While playing for Denmark against Finland, Eriksen collapsed to the ground while suffering cardiac arrest.

The rapid response of the medical personnel averted disaster, with Eriksen going on to make a remarkable and full recovery.

Indeed, the 30-year-old returned to the Premier League in January with Brentford and was the catalyst behind their surge to safety.

However, his contract was only fir six months and as such, he will become a free agent on June 30.

Manchester United, Tottenham and Brentford have all been mentioned alongside his next move. According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, it is the Bees who have acted first.

Romano tweeted Thomas Frank’s side have submitted a ‘serious, important personal terms offer’ to Eriksen.

However, the playmaker is reportedly considering his options, with Romano confirming interest in acquiring his services is widespread.

While the Italian did not name any clubs, links with Man Utd and Spurs have been rampant in the media.

Antonio Conte appeared to lay the groundwork for an Eriksen return all the way back in February. Aside from the obvious Tottenham reunion connection, Conte is the manager who signed Eriksen at Inter Milan.

United, meanwhile, reportedly had scouts in attendance for Denmark’s 2-1 victory over Austria last Monday. Spurs officials were also understood to be in the stadium.
