Man Utd to target £17m ‘important reinforcement’ after ‘big purchase’ of Frenkie de Jong
Manchester United are reportedly keen on a move for Tyrell Malacia, but want to complete a deal for Frenkie de Jong before considering an offer for the Feyenoord full-back.
Malacia, who came through the Feyenoord youth system, has made 136 appearances for the first team, and is now a full international, starting two of the Netherlands’ four recent Nations League fixtures.

He played at left wing-back in those games and De Telegraaf cite his ability to play further forward as evidence that he will get game time at Old Trafford should he make the move, as he is a ‘different type of defender’ to Luke Shaw.

But Malacia is said to be concerned he won’t be first choice should he move to play under compatriot Erik ten Hag.
He would likely be in the starting XI at Lyon, who are said to be leading the race for the 22-year-old, but have had their first two bids rejected.
Feyenoord want £12m to £17m for Malacia, which would not put United off, or indeed Newcastle, who are also said to see him as an ‘important reinforcement’.
