Man Utd tipped to lose out on Youri Tielemans transfer after Leicester City's 'ridiculous' decision

West Ham have been tipped to win the race to sign Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans, despite reported interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid.

The Belgium international could leave City for a cut-price £25million fee this summer. That's according to The Telegraph, who claim the Foxes are willing to sanction the 24-year-old's exit at the end of the season.

Tielemans' contract expires in the summer of 2023 and he will enter the final 12 months of his current deal this summer. But supporters claim it would be 'ridiculous' if the club sold their star midfielder on the cheap.

And former Premier League forward Noel Whelan claims that he wouldn't be surprised to see Tielemans sign for West Ham. Reports claim that manager David Moyes has made it a top priority to sign a central midfielder when the transfer window reopens.

Speaking with Football Insider, Whelan said: "I think they could [sign him]. He’s got everything, hasn’t he? Goals from outside the box, creativity, works hard, dictates the game, very competitive. And he’s at a good age – the best is yet to come.

"Leicester will be forced to let him go because players like Tielemans deserve to be playing in Europe. If West Ham could offer him that, then him joining really would not surprise me.

"With the likes of Benrahma around him, David Moyes could have some really good options next season."
