'Huge' - Alan Hutton now reacts to 'phenomenal' Rangers news from Ibrox sources

Former Ibrox star Alan Hutton has now given his reaction to a revelation on record-setting financial figures at Glasgow Rangers.

As per Football Insider, the Ibrox faithful are now set to record revenues of up to £70m for the season, up from £59m and £47.7m in the past two years.

Ibrox sources have claimed that it would be a relatively ‘phenomenal’ sum in the context of the club’s recent history, and the final figure could be even higher depending on how far they can go in the Europa League.

The Gers take on Braga tonight in the first leg of their quarter-final at the Estádio Municipal de Braga, and Hutton has been left thrilled by the news in the build-up.

Speaking to Football Insider, the former Teddy Bears full-back has now given his reaction to the reveal, claiming that it is ‘huge’ for his old side:

“It’s huge. It just shows you where they’ve come from 10 years ago to where they are at this moment in time.

“I think obviously the Europa League has a lot to do with that, the money that’s coming in. Every round you go through, that money goes up.

“Added on to that, you think of the turnover from the home games, and the money they’ll make. They’re in a good space right now.

“If they can achieve their goals through the season, go as far in Europe as possibly go straight into the Champions League, it’s even more money there to be earned.

“The hierarchy at Rangers will know that and they’ll be desperate for it. I think they’re in a comfortable place. Hopefully, it can just get better.”

Despite the 2-1 loss away at city rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership over the weekend, there are still good signs that the club will grow, at least financially.
