Man Utd: 'Three significant signings' now expected at Old Trafford

Manchester United are planning to make ‘three significant signings’ when Erik ten Hag moves into the Old Trafford dugout, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Ten Hag, who is currently at the helm of Dutch giants Ajax, will become the Red Devils’ boss at the end of the season.

Ralf Rangnick, who has been in interim charge since last November, has claimed Manchester United need to sign up to eight ‘top new players’ to close the gap on Premier League title-chasers Manchester City and Liverpool.

The Daily Mail have revealed Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane, West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, Brighton & Hove Albion star Yves Bissouma and Ajax defender Jurrien Timber are at the top of ten Hag’s shortlist.

But Manchester United are also preparing to battle it out with domestic rivals Chelsea and Arsenal for RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku.

Another RB Leipzig star who has caught the eye of Rangnick, who will move into a two-year consultancy role when ten Hag arrives in the red half of Manchester, is Konrad Laimer.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have made an enquiry over Reims striker Hugo Ekitike, who has also grabbed the attention of Bayern Munich, Newcastle United and Arsenal.

Despite Rangnick’s claims that Manchester United need to bring in the best part of a totally new starting XI, Jones understands the club are more likely to welcome three big-names to Old Trafford in the upcoming summer window.

The transfer insider is not expecting sweeping changes to be made to the Red Devils’ squad straight after ten Hag’s arrival.
