Man Utd sweating on fitness of duo in double injury blow ahead of Premier League return

Ralf Rangnick appears to be in the dark over whether he will have French duo Paul Pogba and Raphael Varane available for Saturday's clash with Leicester.

Both players have suffered fitness complications while on international duty, with their regular training interrupted on Sunday. Pogba and Varane both featured in the 2-1 friendly win over Ivory Coast last Friday.

However, Varane was forced to withdraw just before the hour mark after suffering a "small problem with his foot", France boss Didier Deschamps explained. The former Real Madrid man has struggled with injuries in his debut season at Old Trafford, but has enjoyed more regular spells in the team of late.

According to RTL France, Varane did train on Sunday, but only took part in 'specific training', suggesting he is still struggling with the knock. Rangnick will no doubt be desperate to have him back in contention against Leicester given Harry Maguire's recent struggles.
