Man Utd now 'getting lot of encouragement' over £84m deal at Old Trafford

Manchester United are ‘getting a lot of encouragement’ from Antony to strike a big-money deal which would see the winger swap Ajax for Old Trafford, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Red Devils have spent close to £130million since the transfer window reopened for business, but boss Erik ten Hag could splash even more cash ahead of the 11pm deadline on September 1.

According to The Athletic, Manchester United are confident of reaching an agreement with Ajax and Antony will be at Old Trafford before the transfer window slams shut.

The report suggests the nine-cap Brazil international has become ten Hag’s primary focus and his representatives are in London looking to complete the move.

It is understood that Manchester United are preparing a new bid after being frustrated in their initial attempts to land Antony.
