Manchester United have been forced to shelve their plans to make the "ideal" managerial appointment this summer.
The Red Devils are currently hunting for their next permanent boss having placed Raf Rangnick in interim charge of the club after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's sacking in November. The Old Trafford outfit reportedly have a four-man shortlist after having to accept defeat in their hopes of appointing one of the world's top coaching prodigies.
It comes as United prepare for a huge summer overhaul that may not only see them appoint a new manager but overhaul their entire playing squad. And Sir Alex Ferguson admits he had doubts before making one of the "most disappointing signings" of his footballing career.
