'Full support' - Manchester United fans defend Marcus Rashford after video admission made

Supporters have defended Marcus Rashford after the Manchester United striker moved to explain the part that he played in a heated post-match exchange at Old Trafford.

With the dust yet to settle on Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid, the 24-year-old was captured on video venting his frustrations post-match after being targeted in the car park by matchgoers. Rashford has addressed this on his social media channels.

Rashford was seen gesturing towards the abuse and his reaction was uploaded to Twitter. However, by posting a statement on the same platform, the England international clarified his "side of the story".

During that statement, Rashford argued that the video lacked context and that he had been heckled by the person in question from the moment he stepped foot outside the stadium. He continued to defend his position and he has, generally, received backing from United supporters.

Some have suggested he ought to do his talking on the pitch moving forward. However, the majority of responses have backed Rashford - claiming he was well within his rights to react in such circumstances. Having been replaced by Anthony Elanga in the starting XI, the forward was summoned from the bench upon the restart.

However, neither Rashford nor his United teammates were able to prevent elimination. Renan Lodi nodded home a winner for the Spanish champions four minutes before the half-time interval.
