Man Utd, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid: Who has the highest average attendance this season?

Barcelona have the highest average attendance in the top five leagues so far during the 2022/23 season.

A graphic has been released showing the 72 clubs with the highest average attendances in England, Germany, France, Spain and Italy in this campaign.

And it’s Barcelona who lead the way with an average attendance of 83,383. Perhaps it’s not a huge surprise considering the Camp Nou is the biggest stadium in Europe with a capacity of 99,354.

Trailing Barca are two Bundesliga giants in Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. Dortmund have an average attendance of 80,783 inside their 81,365 capacity at Signal Iduna Park. Bayern’s average attendance is quoted as 75,000 exactly – just 24 seats short of their maximum.

The first Premier League side are Manchester United who are in fourth, standing at 74,674.

AC Milan and Inter Milan share the 80,018 capacity San Siro and are fifth and sixth on the list respectively.

Marseille (62,877), West Ham (62,447), Schalke (62,194) and Tottenham (61,530) complete the top 10.

Manchester City’s average attendance is often mocked in England but they’re currently seeing 53,325 fans come through the turnstiles at their 55,097 capacity Etihad. That puts them above the likes of Liverpool (53,205), Paris Saint-Germain (45,667) and Chelsea (39,941).

But it’s impossible to
