Man Utd legend Roy Keane sends warning to Liverpool over their quadruple bid

Roy Keane says it is ‘all plusses’ for Liverpool at the moment, with great team spirit and momentum behind them on their quest for a quadruple, but warns the Reds, ‘in football it can change quickly.’

Jurgen Klopp’s side won the Carabao Cup on Sunday, beating Chelsea on penalties after a goalless draw at Wembley.

They beat Norwich City on Wednesday night to progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, while they sit second in the Premier League and hold a 2-0 lead over Inter Milan ahead of the second leg of their Champions League last 16 tie next week.

Keane is impressed by his old rivals from his Manchester United days, saying they are clearly a united squad with great momentum, but warns that things can fall away quickly.

‘They do look all in it together,’ Keane said on ITV. ‘I know it’s easy when you win a trophy, but it does look like the squad, the fringe players, the manager, the staff, you saw how much they enjoyed it on Sunday.

‘They’ve got that momentum in the group, but of course in football it can change quickly.

‘But certainly there must be a great buzz around the training ground, at the stadium a new stand being built, there’s a lot going on, it’s all plusses for Liverpool. But it can change quickly.’

Takumi Minamino scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Norwich on Wednesday night and Keane says it is the players who are not usually starters that make the difference in a bid for multiple trophies.

The Irishman singled out his compatriot Caoimhin Kelleher who, not only kept a clean sheet in the Carabao Cup final, but scored in the penalty shootout.
