Man Utd held 'boardroom discussions' over transfer plans after Brighton defeat

Manchester United recruitment staff held discussions with the board on the topic of transfers after their 2-1 defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The transfer insider says that discussions were held at Old Trafford after the clash with Brighton in which the recruitment team and the board talked through what they will do in the remaining weeks of the window.

There has apparently been a realisation that they could still need four or five new players in order to become competitive again.
