Man Utd: 'Crazy' £25m striker could move to Old Trafford

Manchester United target Sasa Kalajdzic and his management are looking at the ‘English market now’, according to BILD journalist Christian Falk.

The Stuttgart striker is expected to seek pastures new this summer but has so far failed to attract any formal offers despite his impressive form over the last couple of campaigns.

Back in May, David Ornstein of The Athletic revealed that Kalajdzic was one of the most in-demand forwards on the market after entering the final year of his contract at the Mercedes-Benz Arena.

Ornstein stated that German giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund were eager to snap up the 6 foot 7 target man, while Benfica, Southampton and Brighton were also monitoring his situation.

However, reliable Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg provided an update on Kalajdzic’s situation last month, claiming that Bayern and Dortmund are no longer in the running for his signature.

Plettenberg also disclosed that United had held talks with the Austria international’s representatives, though, describing the Red Devils as very interested in his services.

Whether Erik ten Hag’s charges make a formal approach for Kalajdzic could depend on the future of wantaway attacker Cristiano Ronaldo, who has made his desire to depart Old Trafford for a second time very clear.

With Benfica replacing Darwin Nunez with Petar Musa and the Bundesliga’s leading forces focussing their attentions elsewhere, Kalajdzic appears to be running out of options.

And Falk has informed GiveMeSport that he believes the towering forward, who has a €30 million (£25m) price tag, will be plying his trade in the Premier League this season.
