Man Utd: £63m star faces 'worrying time' under Ten Hag at Old Trafford

Marcus Rashford still has plenty to prove at Manchester United, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The £63m-rated forward has scored 93 goals for his boyhood club since he broke onto the scene more than six years ago, but he’s currently enduring the worst goalscoring campaign of his career.

In 2020-2021, the England international chipped in with an impressive 36 goal contributions in 57 appearances, in what was his most productive season in the first-team.

Rashford flourished in Europe, helping United reach the Europa League final, and also reached double figures in the Premier League for the third year running.

He’s started just 13 top-flight games and has racked up just five goals and two assists, with his most recent goal contribution coming back in February.

As a result, Rashford has been massively underused by Ralf Rangnick, who left him on the bench for their victory over Brentford on Monday night.

Rashford will be hoping that his fortunes change under the guidance of Erik ten Hag, but Jones thinks the United academy graduate will still have to impress the new manager.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think that Rashford has got a lot to prove and it’s quite a worrying time for Rashford and he’ll be desperate to get himself back into the manager’s plans.”
