Two signings Paratici will 'definitely' make this summer now revealed

Tottenham could sign a midfielder this summer providing they still have funds available, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

Antonio Conte is already putting plans into place to strengthen his squad when the window reopens for business and a midfielder could be on his radar.

Including Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, Tottenham currently have six midfielders under contract.

However, Lo Celso has already been heavily linked with a permanent move to Villarreal, while Ndombele doesn’t have a future in north London and could be loaned out once again this summer.

That would leave Conte with four central midfielders, although Harry Winks is badly out of favour, failing to start a top-flight game since February, which could see him move on to pastures new in search of more regular first-team football.

Winks departing would leave just Oliver Skipp, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur as Conte’s only options, which could force Fabio Paratici to lean towards the transfer market, although Brown believes that Spurs have more important issues to fix before targeting a midfielder.

When asked about Tottenham potentially signing Konrad Laimer, Brown told GIVEMESPORT that they could invest in midfield – but only after securing a striker and a centre-back: “I think they will definitely sign a striker and a centre-back this summer.

“If there is money left over, I could see them looking in midfield, but I don’t think it’s the position of priority.”
