Man Utd: £60m star now 'willing to consider' Old Trafford move

Manchester United target Casemiro is willing to listen to the Red Devils’ offer, claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Real Madrid midfielder is wanted at Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag looks to improve his engine room.

According to BBC Sport, United have made an approach to sign Casemiro this summer.

A deal is unlikely to be cheap, though, with the same outlet claiming that the Brazilian could cost £60m.

United’s interest in Casemiro comes amid their struggle to land Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong. The Athletic reported back in July that they had reached an agreement with the La Liga side to sign De Jong, but the Dutchman has refused to budge.

Be it Casemiro or De Jong, Ten Hag will be desperate to bring in a new midfielder after his side’s dreadful start to the season, with the Manchester club losing both of their first two fixtures.

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Casemiro is definitely open to listening to United’s offer.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “Madrid have told the player that he’s still wanted and he’s still quite important to them, so it’s a big decision.

“It’s also a big step down going from the European champions to a team that’s bottom of the Premier League. That’s where we are right now, but Casemiro is willing to listen to the offer and that tells you something could be done here.”

Without a doubt. The 30-year-old is one of the best – if not the best – defensive midfielders in the world.

As per FBref, Casemiro has ranked in the 90th percentile for tackles, the 93rd for blocks, the 96th for clearances and the 96th for aerials won among his positional peers over the last year, which is extremely impressive.

Speaking about the Brazil international last season, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti
