Man Utd: £50m star's future now 'under threat' at Old Trafford

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will have Aaron Wan-Bissaka ‘under the microscope from day one’ of pre-season before deciding whether to sanction his Old Trafford exit, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Ten Hag has officially moved into the Red Devils’ hot seat and, ahead of his first season at the helm, could look to oversee a squad overhaul during the summer window.

Wan-Bissaka, who cost £50million when he joined from Crystal Palace close to three years ago, may be on his way out of Manchester United in the not-too-distant future.

The Red Devils are understood to be willing to sanction the right-back’s departure from Old Trafford when the transfer window reopens next month.

A permanent switch is the preferred option from Manchester United’s point of view, but the club are not ruling out agreeing to a loan move as long as an obligation to buy is included in the deal for the former England under-21 international.

While Wan-Bissaka appears not to be wanted by his current employers, they are in a strong negotiating position if suitors come forward for his services as the 24-year-old’s £90,000-per-week contract still has two years to run and the Red Devils boast the option of extending the agreement by another 12 months.

Former side Crystal Palace are reportedly mulling over whether to make a move which would take Wan-Bissaka back to Selhurst Park.
