Man Utd: £38m goal-getter 'still on Ten Hag's radar' at Old Trafford

Manchester United are still keeping tabs on Cody Gakpo and the PSV Eindhoven star is more likely to head to Old Trafford than join fellow suitors Leeds United, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Red Devils were not afraid to splash the cash during the summer transfer window, having parted with more than £200million, but boss Erik ten Hag was unable to strike a deal for one of his key targets.

According to Forbes, Manchester United tracked Gakpo throughout the summer transfer window and remain interested in holding negotiations with PSV.

The report suggests the Red Devils agreed personal terms with the nine-cap Netherlands international, who scored in a Nations League win over Poland last month, but opted against testing his current employers’ resolve by lodging a bid.

Jones believes Gakpo is destined to join a club fighting for more regular silverware instead of Leeds, potentially opening the door for Manchester United.

“Manchester United, obviously, looked at him very closely. I know he’s still on the radar
