Fulham ‘suddenly’ face major problem at Craven Cottage

Fulham are set to face a ‘test’ of their squad depth over the coming weeks due to several injuries and suspensions, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Cottagers have made an impressive start to the season following their promotion from the Championship last term but could be in for a difficult few weeks ahead.

After losing just three of their opening eight Premier League games, Fulham are sitting in eighth position in the top-flight standings, much to the delight of manager Marco Silva.

However, the Portuguese tactician will surely be concerned at the ever-increasing number of first-team players occupying the treatment table in west London.

Harry Wilson is yet to play a single minute for Fulham in 2022/23 after injuring his knee in pre-season, while summer signing Manor Solomon is out until the World Cup after having surgery on his knee.

Left-back Antonee Robinson has been absent from the capital club’s previous two outings due to an ankle problem, while right-back Kenny Tete was also left out of the matchday squad last time out due to a knock.

And Fulham are experiencing a major issue at full-back after both Layvin Kurzawa and Kevin Mbabu were withdrawn before half-time against Fulham at the weekend.

Former Chelsea winger Willian also played no part against the Magpies due to a knock and star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic left the field of play after 37 minutes due to an ankle issue, and Jones believes they could find it ‘difficult to cope’ with the absences.
