Man Utd: £27m star has 'failed to impress' behind-the-scenes at Old Trafford

Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has disappointed people behind-the-scenes at the club with his performances over the last three seasons, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Wan-Bissaka moved to Old Trafford in 2019 for £50m, but has found it difficult to live up to expectations, and his time at United could be coming to an end.

The 24-year-old fell out of favour under Ralf Rangnick in the second half of the season as he started just six league games after the turn of the year.

With Erik ten Hag replacing Rangnick in the dugout, Wan-Bissaka may have hoped for a fresh start under the Dutchman this summer.

However, it has been reported by Sky Sports that United are open to selling the 6 foot right-back when the transfer window re-opens. The club would prefer a permanent deal, but would also accept a loan move with an obligation to buy.

Jones has hinted that Wan-Bissaka may still have a chance of getting another opportunity at United, but he has claimed that the £27m-rated defender has not impressed since arriving as a 21-year-old.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jones said: “It’s a big moment for Wan-Bissaka. He wants to play at a club at the highest level, and that’s where Man United are aiming to get back to. That’s what he thought he was joining. But now he’s got to prove he’s actually up to it. I think a lot of the people around the club aren’t particularly impressed by what he’s brought so far.”

From a defensive perspective, Wan-Bissaka actually compares favourably with Kyle Walker, Reece James and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
