Michael Carrick has been named as the Reds' new interim head coach until the end of the season, as the club look to finish the second-half of the season strong with hopes of qualifying for European football in 2026/27. Carrick has been given a 'deadline' to work out how Kobbie Mainoo fits into his plans going forward, as the midfielder remains aggrieved by a lack of playing time awarded by Ruben Amorim. The 20-year-old is said to have a fragile relationship with the United hierarchy. Mainoo started just one game
