Man United transfer boost as 'medical planned' and Erik ten Hag to sign £20m star he loves

Aaron Wan-Bissaka was absent when the Manchester United squad boarded their train bound for London as talks continued over a transfer to West Ham United.

Luke Shaw and Victor Lindelof, who United are proactively trying to sell, were also not seen at Stockport Station on Friday. Lindelof and Wan-Bissaka both played against Liverpool last time out, with the latter playing more minutes than any outfield player except for Casemiro in the friendly.

But on Thursday, United manager Erik ten Hag said the club would assess all three before the weekend. "Victor played (the first half), but he’s a question mark, and Azza (Wan-Bissaka) and Luke Shaw are both question marks; we have to assess them tomorrow," the boss said.

United must sanction the sale of Wan-Bissaka to continue pursuing a deal for Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui as his replacement. That prospective business could also include Matthijs de Ligt to make it a double deal after the club agreed personal terms earlier this summer.

Much like Wan-Bissaka has been before this weekend, the Morocco international has been playing for his current club
